Okay, well, a section of Homeland Security has moved into the building I work in. I am the Concierge, so i sit in the lobby of the building. Guess what? I just witnessed three employees taking about an hour to take pictures by a Christmas Tree in the lobby. Oh yea, that' is really relevant to National Security, It never ceases to amaze me these people. Granted, this is an entirely different branch, they don't deal with Immigration but i just feel like they don't do their parts well. None of homeland security impresses me.

Maybe it's just me or something, but I fail to see what 3 HS employees taking pictures at Christmas for 1 hour has to do with backlogs at USCIS unless of course you're making a generalization that all government workers are slackers or your frustrations with the delays have led to sarcasm.

I see why you name suits your personality. Can you give them break.Just think of it as holiday break. We all need it.I serouisly think you should change you name to "curiousalot"

Okay people. lighten up. It came out the wrong way. It should have been a smiley face. I was trying to be sarcastic. I am not that bad. Geeze.

sarcastic alot? Just kidding:d
well, you are right. What if you go and ask them if they chose their job or it was only option they had. I tell you this that many people work for governemtal agencies because they know they could have more free times but also there are exceptions. I know you just said it becasue the majority might be like this but who knows probably those people you saw that they were the one of afew hard workers for DHS. Alot of people hate IRS workers (I don't know why) but that is their job and they are good people inside.
When you stuck in same situation for so many years you fell the same way, I would feel the same way or my wife for the reason " why we have to live seperate even though we are married and I have been a GC for 5 years"? That is where the frustration coming from.

Be merciful to them, frustrated, it's probably the only bonus they got for x-mas. :D

What's interesting they never publish how may manual check they do annually.
Millions of automated checks means nothing.

Here's simple solution how to clean backlog and make Chertoff's 6 month dead line true.

1. Make 1 hit equal 1 point so case with 3 hits will be 3 point and case with 100 - 100.
2. Make entire Name Check department, including M. Cannon, non-exempt and paid not hourly but point based.
3. Pay salary only by points earned.

Merry Christmas everyone!

z350, do you have one of those cars? You are a rich immigrant.J.K.
That is a good solution in addition 1000 point for bouns? But that is not how a governmental agency works. It is usually base on the number of paper cups you use to drink tea and coffee and number of phone calls from your family members per days.
