Today, I got a letter from USCIS that my EAD was rejected because my I-485 was denied on Sep 2005. I never got the interview letter and now they told me that it has been denied. God ! I can't stand for that. I am very upset about that and I don't know what I can do. Please.....please advice what I should do next step. My friend told me it is super hard to re-open a case. Moreover, it may take over 2 years to do so even it is possible. My EAD has expired and I really don't know how to live without working. Help.........

Did u filed your adjustment status trhough marriage? What is the reason for denial or what it says on the letter? Please give us more detail

Yes. I filed it through marriage. The reason to deny me is that I missed the interview. I never received the interview letter in fact. Do I still have chance to adjust my status ? Is it much difficult ? Thank you !

First, you should send right away a Motion to Reopen, it can be done. Second, talk with your lawyer and check if he didn't miss something and actually part of his job is exactly to check this problem. Have you change of address, move to another place? Who check your mail or receive your mail?
Good luck,

Thank you your reply. I never hired a lawyer since I did it by myself. My wife and I moved to a new place and we did change the address, but in post office instead of USCIS. I thought the post office would forward the letters to my new address. It has been four months since the USCIS denied my I-485. Is that still possible to ask for reopen my case ? Do I need to refile again ? The main concern is that........will it be very difficult to pass my interview even I could get one in the future ? Thank you !

Always call the 1-800 number and ask them to change the address under your pending USCIS cases. I did this myself several times and always get the confirmation from the USCIS. You also need to submit AR-11 form for the change of address.
Its not the end of the world. Get a good lawyer to reopen your case and hopefully you will be all set.
Good Luck.
