Hello everyone!

I received I-485 approval (asylum based) and got stamped recently. My wife is a Canadian citizen and is in the USA as a visitor (canadians do not need visa to visit USA and can stay upto 6 months). She is a Registered Nurse and wants to work here. To obtain a license she needs a SSN. Here's my question:
If I petition for her (now that I am a legal permanent resident), how long will it take her to get approved and what form do I have to submit? Will it affect her status? I mean will she be able to enter US freely as before (after I file for her)?
If there is any other way for her to get the SSN or a legal status so she can work in the US, please let me know.

Thank you all

It will take her 5 years to get her green card if you apply for her now. I think her job can sponsor her and this may prove more efficient.
