I self petitioned I-140 as EB1-OR (employer signed my papers but did not want to commit a lawyer). Since I was not sure whether it will be approved, and my family of four would have required a lot of money for the I-845, I decided withold the I-485 until I-140 is approved. Fortunately after about four and a half months, I got my I-140 approved; now, my question: what is the best way to handle the 485?
(1) Do I really need a lawyer? I see as if the I-485 requires filling forms only and there no case building as for the I-140, which I managed to do myself.
(2) What are conditions that can lead to I-185 being denied even after an approved I-140 ? And how can I avoid these conditions in my filing?
(3) Assuming I do it myself, how do I handle the Medicals, do I have to see the Civil surgeon myself or I need some referal.
(4) What should I fill in Part B for each of my family members? (a) or (b)
