I need help....is trickery involved??

My wife is from Malaysia..and we have a 4 year old daughter...we applied for
her to be a perm..resident..eventually she got a letter from the INS saying
she was denied..that she could become a public charge..etc.They set up an
appointment for an appeal interview,in which she didn't show up for.That was
6 months ago..and have not heard another word.The lawyer she got to take
care of the forms...will not discuss the case with me..and refuses to.I do not
know what is going on...but something smells rotten.
I am Bi-Polar,and have an Anxiety disorder,and the doctor I was seeing gave
sent her a letter that a Child Care council needed stating I was unable to
care for our daughter.He disclosed my personal info,so she could get a break
in the cost of child care.
Thing is..she got it from the Doctor with out my signing a release of
information.This is not right..and I think they are using this illegally obtained
information for the INS.How could they do this?What is this lawyer and my
wife up to?I thought an INS lawyer represented you both when you are a
sponsor for your spouse to adjust status??If anyone can give me any advice,
I would really appreciate it.

Yes that does sound rotten. There are severla things that you could jump to conclusions about.

Ask your doctor if he/she was handed a letter signed by "you" allowing this letter from the doctor to be written. Maybe a letter was forged.

It sounds like your wife may be filing for a waiver from you. That's jumping to conclusions but it's a possibility. if she can prove that you're in one of those categories where she can get a waiver then she can still be approved for GC.

If she's the one who is consulting the lawyer then he could be suggesting this to her, and she's holding attorney-client privilige with him. much like what you and your doctor were supposed to have. if your permission wasn't forged, then she could ahave easily gotten the doctor's letter by something legitimate, like the child care issue and had a copy of it for her own use.

But this is just a possibility, nothing for sure. ask her
