Dear readers,

I am a 23 years old guy, holding Jordanian citizen (Arabian citizen), I've participated in a cultural exchange with the USA the last year (summer of 2004) for 3 months, and I've fallen in love with an American citizen girl, she is 22 years old.

And this year I am participating again in the same program. I have a J1 Visa that allows me to stay and "Work legally" in the United States till Nov-1-2005. I've already been issued a social security number the last year, with "Authorization to work" stamped on it.

Now I'll be in the United States on Sep-6-2005, and I'm willing to marry the girl I love, and I'll apply for the green card there in the states on Sep-10-2005, but the problem is that I've to get back to my country on Sep-10-2006, to do my last year in the university.

Now what I am afraid of are:
- Is it possible for me to obtain the green card within a year only!
- What if it will take more than a year, will I be able to get back to my country, and then return back to the states and continue my green card process!
- And then, if I want to return back to the states will the US Embassy grant me a visa, while they know I am going on a green card process, which mean I have no welling to go back to my country!

I'll appreciate every single help from you!

Its really depends on from which district office you are applying from which will depends on where you will be living. Some place you get it within 6 months, some place it takes more than 2 years. and if your name stucks in name check, God knows how long.

You can file for AP, when you file for your GC which will allow you to leave the country. You must come back before it expires.

with AP, you will not need any visa to enter in to the country.

I'll appreciate every single help from you!
