If a person, married to US citizen and his/her spouse files I-130 and then they wait till it gets approved before the foreign born relative can file I-485, do they go by the priority date on that already filed and approved I-130, or by the newly submitted I-485 and have to start the waiting process from a beginning?
Is it faster to file all the forms together (I-130, I-485, and so on) in the local office, or you can still be fine by filing them one after another?

The priority date will be that of the approved petition (I-130).
However, priority dates are only used to determine eligibility to file I-485 for cases where visas are not available automatically (like employment, family first preference etc). For spouses of US citizens, visas are always current. The processing time for I-485 still depends on the the receipt date of the I-485.

Long story short, it is much faster to file all together for spouses of US citizens.

OK. I understand.
However, I and my husband already send I-130 to the service center.
The thing is - I already have one I-485 pending in the different category with a HUGE BACKLOG and
I want to get I-130 approved first before filing another I-485.
Anybody has an experience with two I-485 at the same time?
How long does is usually take for I-130 to get approved? It’s been almost three weeks, but I didn’t even get a receipt yet that INS office received my application (I-130).

I applied 2 485 's at the same time got approved too.
First send the second 485 and send a letter to withdraw the first one.
There won't be any issues.Send I-130 and 485 to the local office, not to the service center.

pmreddy_2002,
Thank you for your reassurance
Unfortunately, I already sent my I-130 alone to the service center.
I read on this forum that due to longer processing time eligible applicants can file I-485 with just a receipt of pending I-130.
Is this true? Anybody done this?

yes it is true....all u need is a copy of the 130 notice(797)..enclose that copy with ur new/2nd 485 when u r ready to file it...
