I messed up online OCI app - what to do now??

1. I messed up my birthdate on my OCI app!! Only noticed it on the printout. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? Do I submit another online app? Or, correct it on the printout using whiteout?

2. I need to mail the app to CGI Houston. It seems fee for me are $275 + $25. So, will one cashier's check of $300 suffice?

3. Realistically, how long should I expect to receive the OCI document from CGI Houston.
 
I put today's date instead of my birth date

for those wondering - how could I forget my birthdate... I was absent minded and I put today's date instead of my birth date on the online app:-)


PLEASE HELP!! What should I do to continue with the paper application?

1. No Biggie, Discard that online app. File another one. Then when you mail the copy, mail the second one. Do NOT white out and send first app.

2. yes, fee plus postage (Which I thought was 20 but could be 25, plz double check. One cashire check or money order works

3. Now a days ? Long !!! It is taking them more than 7-8 weeks to ack the app, then may be a month to get the OCI then another 2-3 weeks to get ot stamped in your US passport. I would say 3.5/4 months for Houston :(
 
Pretty much what n400atl said. But I wouldn't even worry about the first printout, just discard it. You really do not want to complicate the staff. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.

Also, its 275+20=295

Three months is a good round figure, with due diligence.

PS- Also check the Indian embassy site to double check requirements.
