I want to track the I140 cases for my receipt date (03/01/2004). There have been so many posts saying that some one has tracked for so and so date but I could not find one in the forum which explains how to track.

Could some one explain me how to do that ?

Really appreciate your help!

Here is the file attached. You need to enter the day and series when you press Alt+F8

Hi Karns

Thanks for sending me the tracker.

My case number is EAC04106*****. I do not see where to update the date before running the tracker for a particular date.

Could you please update the tracker with my date and send me again ? Really appreciate your help!

When you run the macro by pressing ALT+F8 it will ask you for the date and the number series.

This question looks like an USCIS RFE !
I can't get the pun. Let me tell you something - some of the active ones here are not Indians and two of the lead scan guys here(one in VSC and one in CSC) - they are not Indians.

One of the best discussion going on right now in VSC 140 is initiated by a non-Indian.

It is not wise RB. You are being myopic.

C'mon Jharkhandi, I don't think somebody felt insulted. I am not indian also but I didn't even notice RoaringBull's comment until I saw the f/up posts. The most important thing is that all of us, indians and non-indians alike to share info and support each other in this crap called GC processing ... I don't think he wanted to insult anybody ...

Way to go guys.

Nice to see you again nemessis. Do you remember I has sent you a macro to be run againt identified 140 cases? I have misplaced that macro. Can you post it in an Excel so that RB, sree234 can use it once they have identified 140 cases for their date? This will help them disregard scan of cases of other types and will thereby allow a larger scan range.

Folks, that macro has some bugs. I am not a VBA/Excel expert and I do not have Excel - so you may have to fix the bugs. If nemessis can post it as text file - I can help identify one bug for sure(I had hardcoded sheet number for testing). You will have to run normal 140 scan for couple of days till you identify all the cases of your interest, then you can run scan on selected cases, so that you do not hit limit everyday and get frustrated.

That appears nice to us. Today I ran the macro and after fetching few records my IP has been blocked. Really appreciate if some can send us the corrected macro which will check for the I140 cases only. Thanks.

Jharkhandi,

I couldn't find it in my e-mail but I have it for sure in my computer at home. Unfortunately my PC is in Boston, now I'm in Philly but I'm going there over the week-end and I'll post it then.

Hope you're following my scans in I485 forum. What do you think about so many transfers? It looks to me that there are 3 waves (I don't want to call it theory because all the theories posted here proved to be innacurate): a small wave of transfers, RFEs for the applications with very obvious problems (this wave is somwhere in July-Sept 2003 I guess), a second bigger wave of transfers for much smaller problems (I don't know for sure, but I guess that can be related with any suspicion the adjuduciator may have ... he/she transfers the application to get rid of it from VSC) - this second wave is somwhere between Feb-June 2003, and a third wave of approvals/transfers for applications I guess with very small problems but for which the adjudiciators didn't want to bother to send an RFE or approve it directly ... this third wave is somewhere in Dec 2002 - March 2003 and the approvals started to dominate in this lasrt wave.

I feel it is just hitting the permissible count of transfers as per SOPs. Looks like it is proactive first cut judgement on cases.

One thing is for sure - backlog reduction is seriously being done from statistical perspective. Also add to the fact that transfers are easy to handle from USCIS' point of view compared to RFE - it is a positive step. It will be another thing that NJ folks may welcome it, but people in backlogged offices like Atlanta may not find it same as USCIS would do.

But then this has to last soon(turn into two waves max) for a sensible speed on 140 and 485.

What about the FP issue? My feeling now is that they realized how much they screwed up with issuing FP2 and 3s so they decided to stop sending FPs. But they are working on applications (including approvals) up to June 2003, so if USCIS really wants to eliminate the backlog and to avoid issuing a second FP I think they would focus on finishing the cases which already has FP done and after they are done with them they'll start sending FP for the next guys in line ... if that's the case we might see aprovals/transfers flowing after the FP will start again. Just a thought ...
