Hi, everyone!
I want to file sitizenship. But i do not remember exactly date my first trip outside u.s. it was 7 years ago. I cannot find my old passport to check dates. Please, help! Where can i find this info and is it ok if i do not have my old passport? :(

I really don't know what the US embassy on your country can do about this ;) I wouldn't waste time doing this.

You could try looking in old bank or credit card activity (granted, seven years ago is a long time). You could look for e-mail confirmations for the trip. If you can't still find the exact dates write the dates to the best of your knowledge and mention this during interview, that you couldn't find the exact dates.

So, my idea of saving reservation itineraries, airline ticket stubs (international), or boarding passes for the last 30 years was not that crazy after all...

I would think that even 7 years ago you should be able to remember approximate dates, tho, then work from there to 'firm them up'.

Although you are supposed to list all trips since becoming a permanent resident, they really don't care about trips that were more than 5 years ago. So just write down something based on your approximate memory of that trip, and mention that the date is approximate because you don't have a paper record of the exact date.

Provide a date which is rather quite close to the trip. As jack mentioned, we only have to mention travel dates for 5 years from the date of application!

You still have to mention all trips since becoming a permanent resident, including more than 5 years ago if you've been a PR for more than 5 years. It's just that when they evaluate your eligibility for citizenship, they generally don't care about trips more than 5 years ago, even though you're supposed to list them.

You need to mention the trips that were made after becoming a permanent resident. If there is absolutely no way for you to find the details for that trip, just mention the likely dates and attach a explanation sheet to the application stating that you mentioned the likely date for that specific trip as you lost your passport. You will atleast get to the interview stage where you can prove your honesty and explain the situation in person.

Next time keep your passport safely and properly.

Safe places:
1. vault (fire-proof or waterproof)
2. file cabinet
3. attic
4. office desk cabinet
5. closet
6. drawer
7. bank box

You need to go to the US embassy on your country and get help there.
If you tried that I doubt they would even let you past security at the front gate. A country's embassies exist primarily to represent that country overseas - not to help people who couldn't be bothered to keep the correct records.
