I have H-1, wife has H-4, how to file tax jointly?

Hello,

I have an H1-B visa, I got married on Dec 4th 2007, so I am "married" for 2007 tax purposes. I want to file jointly, but my wife has no SSN (nor can she get one).

What should be the best way to do this?

Just apply for ITIN number. That has to be done with the tax returns and once IRS issues you a ITIN, that can be used in place of SSN on the tax forms.
