I hate guess work...but need your honest opinion

I am afraid....

being a pessimist, I see that half of november and the whole of december has to get over before Jan starts- do you think it can be done in 4 weeks?

Unless VSC picks up a faster pace I doubt Jan will start before July :( But then, I am just being pessimistic to keep myself from hoping for an early approval! My dates are in Feb....

Hope

I think we kind of observed that after Apr 25(Special registration ended) the number of people getting approval is kind of increased. I would speculate that the 30 % of december cases will be kind of touched(may be approved or received some kind of approval. I have a feeling that January will start from June 1st week.

But you never know. BCIS is BCIS

I don't want to count on pending November cases because those cases seem to be pending because of delays in Security checks.
As far as December is concerned, we are seeing good number of approvals daily ( The pace has increased a lot after 4/25). So i guess January is not too far away. My bet is VSC will start January processing some time in JUNE.

I wonder..

Does BCIS disclose the number of applications received each month in all categories to the public anywhere? If that is the case, we can have a very good rough idea when Jan processing actually starts:p

Jaic,

You should be knowing now, that there is no scientific theory behind forecasting about the date which BCIS is going to process.

Again just go for the thumb rules.

1. Just ignore thinking about estimating the time of picking up the applications.

2. Secondly, if you have an astrologer, you can challenge him.

No one in this board can ever estimate also. As BCIS works like that.

Well my guess...!!
Dec[&remaining Nov] would continue until June end...!!
while Jan would start in July2003 - and the first few Jan approvals might show up lastweek of June2003..!!

I think that we will see the first few January approvals in early to mid June.

Also, have you looked at the new GC forecasting function posted on www.rupnet.com/immigration? I think there is some validity to it. Yes, it is not perfect - no forecast can be perfect, but it is a good approach. It is based on the sample data in the rupnet database and the base size is big enough so that I think that this is really a good tool.

Can sombody kindly tell me what is that special registration about ? How long has it been used ? Will the termination of special registration affect both 485 and 140 ?

The special registration was done in four groups, the special registration for the last group was completed on April 25.

The hope is that the resources used for the special regristration are now free to work on other immigration stuff - hopefully benefiting I-485 somewhat.

Indeed since April 25 more I-485 were approved, but the level is still very low - essentially you can say that the BCIS didn't approve anything for about 4-5 months and now they are slowly starting to get back to the speed we saw in August to mid October of 2002.

Hello ...

My dear friend Jaic ..

Today I saw some Jan Approvals posted and a RFE ...

So I went and checked my status and while I was typing the EAC numbers I noticed that I had a perceptible increase in my BP !

Hang in there ...
Most probably by --- July (2003)

Yes, I have High BP

not kidding, because of GC or something else I am not sure.
