I got to the United States in 2008

Hi guys,

Thank you for your time.

I would like somebody with a knowledge to help me out here.I have a question.I came to the United States on a DV lottory in 2008.Now I want to fly back home for Christmas for just two to three weeks trip.My question is , do I need a special travel document other than my green card(and my passport) when I fly out of the country? Do I need to notify the government ? (or fill out a special form before I leave.Comments from your own experiences would be highly appreciated.

You only need your green card and passport to travel out and into the USA.
With recent changes, when you return your biometrics will be taken at the port of entry.
 
For a period of two to three weeks you don't need any special docs other than your passport and the GC. If you were to travel for a period of a year, then you would need to apply for a Re-entry permit before you leave. Have a safe and wonderful trip.
