I got my Green Card Today!!!!! :-)

Finally I got it. Today. I have it in my hand. I am finally a Permanent US resident. I have been here 13 years all legally but always felt rather unsettled. Now I can breathe. Count down to citizenship begins now. Four years to go. But this moment is too important to look any further so for now I am just happy to have my GC.

Here are the dates:

6/30/2009: I-485 Application sent to TSC

7/27/2009: Receipt Notice dated for 7/22/2009 received.

8/13/2009: FP 3 Notice received Appointment date 9/2/2009

8/24/2009: Email Update stating that my I-485 Application has been approved. (Before I even did my FP)

8/26/2009: I decided to go and try get my FP done. It was so easy and not even an issue that I showed up a week before my appointment. Did FPs and photo in 15 minutes in and out

8/26/2009: Card Production Ordered email: only several hours after I did my FP

8/28/2009: Another card production ordered email with the 8/28 Date now as the date the card was in production...weird.

9/1/2009: Card Mailed Email.

Today 9/4/2009 Card in Hand. The picture is pretty good for something that was taken without me even really knowing where the camera was. The lady said look here, pressed a button and done. I thought it would look awful but it's good. And they back dated my card a year so I don't have to fix anything.

All in all a little over two months since I sent it but only 41 days after the actual receipt date on the notice.

and i got Email 08 / 28 / 09 Approval Notice sent (am still waiting my Approval notice i did not see yet )
Today (09 /4/09) i call 800 # she i said ur case is approved and she congratulate me ,, but i ask her more info she put me hold and went ask Superviser then she come back tell me u r i 485 approved and Congrats me again ...
But Guys i don't believe until am not getting my hand..
Funny is this i didnt Even get any FP or anything Da way u get FP notice...

i dont know what t o Believe....
anyway am happy for u Enjoy u r Life Is Green NOW>>>>

This post wasn't meant for people to piggy back onto for their own crap and others to write dumb nonsensical responses.I wanted to share my happiness but I can see that this is pointless on this very angry forum
 
Well, I think acr is referring to the fact that you applied for your GC just a few months ago (wow!) so the assumption is you've been an asylee for 13 years and just applied for a GC, I guess, which is a little strange. But, congratulations anyway :)
 
I didn't say I have been an asylee for 13 years. I said I have been here...here in this country for 13 years. I was an asylee for only one year and three months including I-485 processing time. There are other legal statuses you know.

You can't ruin my happiness. I am just a little disappointed with the response.
 
well congratulations. enjoy ur new status! and also remember. there are always all sorts of people with different attitudes every where! ;) even tho one person addressed to your post with a response that had a tone that disappointed you, others expressed their joy for the new cause that brought happiness for you. we would all like you to shre ur happiness with us and i certainly want to share my happiness with everyone here once i have good news one day (if any, fingers crossed!). so, consider that and maybe it will make u feel content!

again, congratulations. very happy for you. i do hope that my experience would be as smooth as some of yours (WillH, mamatony, etc). enjoy it to the max and don't be disappointed!!
 
You need to be disappointed not with the response but with the dates you posted. To joy your happiness edit your post to alter the timeline to make it complete.
 
acr, I don't think you speak English as well as you think. I am no longer upset with your responses. I now know that it's a language barrier issue and forgive you :-) Good Luck with your process friend.

well I have had my RTD for 10months now and now that I want to travel, I can't. Irony becomes me.. but that's for another post
