I got my GC stammped last month and want to change the employer . Can i do that??????

Hello Friends,

I got my GC stamped last month and my client is offering a Permanent job. So at this point can i change my employer. I already received two pay stubs from the Employer.


Do i need to wait till i get my plastic card to change the employer.???


Please provide your comments on this..

After GC stamp employment change

is still tricky. Post AC21 nothing is clear. At Risk are renewal of GC (after 10 years) and/or citizenship.
But it will not make a difference if you jumped ship after stamping or after receiving the card (unless your SC sends the card after 6 months) )

You got the GC Stamped, you are done with the GC Process.

I don't think you will have any issues if you change employer.
I know many people who changed employer and they all received their plastic cards later.

But I don't know what will happen at the time of GC renewal after 10 years or at the time of applying for citizenship.

I guess we all have to wait for 10 year to get answer

The Lawyers would always say work for at least 6 months

But again, it is advised and safe to work for at least 6 months with the GC sponsorer to avoid any complexities in future. But I know in the current market conditions its not sometimes possible.
