I got my asylum!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you all are aware, my brother and myself had applied for asylum in the immigration court. The judge gave the decision today in our favor. The DHS has upto 02/21/07 to appeal the case. I hope they don't. If all goes well, I will be a legal alien after been out of status for ten years.

I just cannot explain the emotions I am going through at the moment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you folks who have always answered to any questions and given me advice. This does not mean I will be leaving this forum. I will be active and try and help other fellow members in this forum to the best of my knowledge.

Congratulations! I was so scared to go in front of an immigration judge. I bet you feel so relieved now!! Enjoy! :)

Congrats man. Don't worry DHS is not going to appeal for sure. Next year this time you'll be eligible to apply for status adjustment ( I-485). Hopefully you don't have to wait like me or so many others who's processing took six long yrs, some are even still waiting. Allthough looks like USCIS is processing cases lot better than prior days.

I was in front of an IJ and know what you went through. Luckily it all worked out for the both of us. Good luck with your new life and endeavors.
