I came home just now, and saw that I got approved. It is weird because it had been less than a full day that the "case status not found" message was replaced with approval message.....

On April 1, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.

Hah ha, the approval date is April 1 of all dates.

I guess the card is not ordered yet, but it is OK. I am approved and that is all that matters. :) :) :)

Clotty,

Congratulations on your approval.

Thank You all.

Thank you all for the support and courage. Best wishes to all of u. And we might seeing each other again 4 years + 1 day and discuss "the next issue in life" ... hehehe ... (I already start dreaming about it.)

The only question I have in mind right now is ...

my parents want me to go back to my country (for my bro wedding *possibly*). I've heard a lot of rumor about this. some says "INS can take my gc back" ... (now that's scary, after the long wait ?!) ...

any suggestion? any experiences? anybody from GC asylum went back to the country of origin and have no problem with it? ... pls do share .. THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance :)

The problem is mostly pertaining to "oh what will it look like during the citizenship interview?". And I have not yet read one post by an ex-asylee who had his citizenship interview. But on this topic MANY, I mean MAAANY threads have been made here. I suggest you read them (make a search on this forum with key words "COP travel") and afterwards decide for yourself. It is a gray area, which is why I wanted a citizenship section/stricky thread for ex-asylees who are preparing for their citizenship applications because reading ex-asylees' citizenship interview experiences will make most of these worries eliminated. But if you ask my personal opinion, you have a very good reason to visit your COP: your brother's wedding. I do not see anyone not granting citizienship or taking your GC for that. Just make sure you bring some proof with you (just in case), like an official wedding invitation and whatnot.

thanks :)

Thanks for ur advise Clotty :) ... I will do more research on this one. including calling my lawyer and asked his advise. One of my roomates told me that when she applied for citizenship, they asked detail information "where did she travelled during GC status". She suggest me to keep track on "my trip". like exact date, and the place and for how long and all the document. I probably gonna make 1 folder just for "all the travel" that I will make during the period time from GC until my citizenship interview.

No, it was not about me not trusting you. I asked if you talked to an IO or just the customer service. My being not certain was due to the technical problems the system had this past Sunday when everyone got that message, so I was trying to make sure mine today was for real.......and it turned out it was. :)

Thanks kelvin. My eyes is at the mail box nowadays, waiting for the welcome or approval notice and the plastic.

oh, i forgot to fill out part C section 3 of I-485. It asks if i have any connection with political parties, funds and societies after my 16th birthday.

:)
