Guys, i don't know what to say, I am so happy, i was checking my email and there was the USCIS email (2 of them). I got approved, I got approved, I got approved.

FP 8-15-3

I am just a week after you, so it means INS is now processing after 11/16/99.
though I did my FP in the middle of Sep. Let me know if I post your dates correct.

thanks canterbury2 and kaoticfury , SAM, i am still not sure which date the USCIS goes by. prior to status change, the online status was saying,
"your application ....etc was received on 12-06-99 ...etc" but I sent my I-485 on october 99.
i hope that helps.
Siddig why is 3 years and 9 months? i thought 4 years from the day you are apporved, in my case i can apply on 07-07-08

They allow you to apply early, 90 days before you are actually eligible.

Guys, I applied for an RTD last April, since i am apprved now, will I be getting an RTD or reentry permit ?

I asked the same question when i was in your position. Since you applied for RTD you will get an RTD but they will write in your RTD that you are a permenant resident.

And yes you will get RTD until you become a citizen...another road of 3 years and 9 months... but hey who cares... enjoy.. :)

before my status changed online, it used to say
"your application for adjustment of status was received on 12-06-99, it is taking ....etc"
i never received any notice of action from the former INS, probably because i moved to another state and got lost or returned to them.
I sent my application on October 99. the US postal receip shows it was received 10-06-99.
up until now i am still not sure if my case is pre 11-16-99 or post 11-16-9
