My EAD will expire on 3/7/03, I applied for renewal on 12/2/2002. On 3/3/2003 after completion of 90 days. I went to Jacksonville office for I-EAD.

I was told that officer has lot of backlog and will schedule an appointment for I-EAD on 4/16/2003.

In the meantime, I spoke to IIO at Service Center, As per her. You can continue the work. INS is aware of the problem will not come after you or your employer.

Called Maimi office and they said if you in our jurisdication. we will issue the I-EAD Immediately.

Any one in the same boat ?

Thanks

stay cool...

salam,
hey,
don't worry.
as long as you do not need to show your employer the EAD you are in good shape. The new EAD will have the date starting from where your last one ends, atleast, that was the case with mine.
So unless you are changing jobs or your current employer is uptight about making sure your EAD is currently valid, I wouldn't worry about it.
As the IIO said, its fine for you to work while they are processing your next EAD (I was told the same thing by an IIO 3 months ago, took 4 months for my EAD to come through), also, you have the receipt to prove that you have filed for the renewal.
Its upto you if you want to go through the hassle of going to the local office and getting the i-EAD. (i'didn't)
take care.
