Hello everyone! Happy New Year!!! I wish all your immigration problems will be solved in this new 2008.
I called few minutes ago 1800 number because of my husband's I-485 which was filed on January 7, 2007. The Nebraska Service Center was working with cases which were filed on February , 2007. That was the information from the website on December , 2007.On December 3, 2007, I was told that the case is 27 days outside of processing time and they couldn't file the request until it's 30 days outside of processing time. I had to wait 3 more days. I called again on December 17. My husbands case was again about outside processing time, I had to wait this time for 4 more days. I called again today and, oh, my god, currently they working with cases which were filed On October, 2006. ALMOST ONE YEAR BACK!!! The dialogue with IO over the phone
- How could this happen? A week ago Nebraska was working with February, 2007 cases?
- It's impossible.
-What does it mean impossible? I saw with my own eyes, other officers saw it a and tried to help, but I needed to wait for few days.
- You think it's a fair that you husband send the request based on asylum in 2007 and will receive in it 2008?
-You think it's unfair?
- I think it is. You should be thankful that you received an asylum status and allowed to work and live in this country and do not complain and about processing time.
-Well, I think you are not the one who should tell me what to do and what to be thankful for.
-You received asylum and it takes 2 -3 years to process your request. That 's your status, you asked for that.
He was very rude, I was speechless after that. My husband is here since 1999, they lost his case, he won DV twice, they couldn't finish his background check, the judge was sick for 9 months. I mean it's not that I want this green card for him so quick, but I think it's unfair to speak with anybody like this.
Thank you for reading this post. Good luck!!!

Write a complain letter about the j@ckass. I hate people that act like that. You need to do something. Don't let him put you down.

So what you are saying is that he has won DV twice and they could not process his case due to insufficient time for a background check? If this is correct, then I think that USCIS asks to expedite such cases if they fall under the sunsent procedures...

What do you mean by sunsent procedure?

What do you mean by sunsent procedure?

Sunset procedures are immigration cases that have a processing cut off date (such as DV cases). USCIS exercises its discretion in such cases to process them sooner than other cases because they are subject to a deadline. DV cases, some CSPA cases may fall into this category.
