Hello, I am Syrian student who lives and study now in NY, I have F1 visa now but I want to apply for the asylum.
I don't know how to start, and what is the steps in this process, and what is my chance to be accepted.
Please can you help me step by step, also if there is any links for previous posts here, could you post it in the comments. Thanks a lot.

You can go to USCIS website to download the I-589 and the instructions of it.

If you don't feel comfortable to share with us about your persecution experience and future fear after you returning your country, try to call some law firms, they have free immigration consultation. But you have to know that their counsel throughout the consultation is basically pretty general.

I want to ask, is that required me to specify a lawyer in the processing? or I can do it completely by my self?
