I am not sure how to read the USCIS answer

The story is:

my NIW got rejected in January. I filed an AAO appeal.

Recently I received an email from USCIS saying that:

"Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

This case has been approved. " etc.

Same thing with another email regarding I140.

I logged into my account at the USCIS web site and it was also saying that the cases had been approved.

I was supposed to receive the hard copies in the mail within 2 weeks.

So I thought my green card was approved.

Then recently the "Notice of Action" mail arrived saying (for both I140 and I485 the same text):

"After review, we have reopened the above application or petition, or reconsidered the decision previously issued. You will receive a notice under separate cover once all action has been completed."

So, at which stage is my case now? Only reopened to be reconsidered in some time, or practically "through" with some more formalities to be prepared annd mailed?

Sorry, but the problem is that I can't really read this

The same thing happened to me. I just received the notice and it shows the same sentence. Could somebody shed light on this question? Thanks a lot.

Typical government nonsense.

I would call them.

I hope the explanation is simple:
BCIS send all notices. Today you received notices that your cases were reopened. May be they reopened one day and approved the next day. Very likely in a day or two you will get your approval letters. Do not panic. I know for shure they send letters than a case gets reopened.
Good luck

Did you file an apeal?
Thanks

Yes. I filed the appeal, but the status of the appeal has not been changed. I will wait to see what will happen.

The thing here is the same: the answer appears in its explanation to refer to the appeal, but the Notice OF Action refers to I-documents from the application proper, as well as the emails from USCIS and the data on the USCIS web site. The motions to reopen there appear to be untouched since received.

Sounds logical and I hope it is true - thx!

Hello..
Congratulations klopfhausen and 6666 on your niw cases appeal approved/opened. Please could you kindly tell when you people filed for appeal, like was it 290B/sent to aao at dc or mtr and approximately how many months it took for them to look/approve your case. I had my niw rejected in jan and had filed an aao appeal 290B..in march and just praying..Best Wishes in your future endeavours..

Thank you. The NIW I-140 was denied on Feb 10, 2005, and the appeal was filed on march 10. The approval was shown online on Apil 11. I hope that the approval is true.

Good luck with everyone

Very identical situation here like with 6666...so everything went rapidly so far...I am not certain what you mean by mtr.

I wish you good luck, too.

Thank you very much, mtr is motion to reopen, which is usually done by the centre itself/adjudicating officer, whereas the appeal goes to aao office at dc. iwas wondering what you people meant by appeal, whether it was 290 B filed at administrative office aao at dc or the mtr.
Thank you very much for your good wishes. and best wishes..

Hey, I still don't quite understand your question, as basically the whole procedure was more or less the same with same forms etc. I don't know what could be different, ie, how you did it, as it seems that not too much depends on the petitioner.

I received the approval notice the next day after re-open notice arrival. Thank you for all the help from you guys.

Devotee, my husband filed the appeal, and got I290B receipt notice. Please be patient and your approval will come soon.

Good luck and best wishes
