Good evening to everyone,

I went to green card do it yourself a couple of weeks, but I'm still living in Mexico and my husband will return soon to United States, we are going to get married by church july 2009 and after that we want to live together in USA, I just have my Visitor Visa B1, and I don't know what to do.
If I should wait to live there and start the process, or do it right now,
I know he has to apply for the i-130 and I have to apply for the I-485 but I don't know if we should start, or better when we are in America.

Could somebody help me to understand a bit more the process??

I appreciate your help.

Best Regards

first, you have to find out if you can do direct consular filing at the US consulate in Mexico. In this case, your spouse will file I-130 at the US consulate in Mexico, and in about 6 months you will go through consular processing, get your immigrant visa and come to the States.

or your spouse can return to the States, file I-130 there, and in about 6 months you will go through consular processing, get your immigrant visa and come to the States.
