I am laid off by my employer after 4 months of I485 RD (3 months of ND)

My employer has laid me off after I485 was filled 4 months back. I have received my EAD card. Employer has promised he will not not disturb the GC process.

If I find new employer today can I start working for him or have I to wait for another 2 months before 180 days are complete (or 3 months if we consider ND)?

What are my possible options?

Can I be self employer after 180 days?

Do I need to inform INS about this change of employer or employment? (whenever it will be)

I will appreciate responses.

You can start working now for the new employer. At the time of interview you have to submit the employment offer from the new employer in line with your LC and I140 job title/description/responsibilities.

I would advise you to wait till the GC before opting for self employment. You need a lawyer\'s advice here if you want to choose this option.

Theoritically yes. But you can inform at the time of interview or as a response to an employment RFE
 
FP after laid off

I have the same situation. How about INS ask for Employment letter when doing FP? BUt I already left the company and have not find a new job by then?
