Dear friends,
I have filed my I-485 along with AP/EAD to CSC (RD are 10/26/2001; ND are 11/19/01). Last week, my father was diagnosed as liver cancer and a major surgery was done on last Friday. I am afraid that his days will not last too long and I must go back to China ASAP to comfort him.
I am on optional practical training right now. My friends and my employer have suggested three possible ways:
1. Go to San Diego District Office and apply for emergency AP with documents about my father’s illness (do they need notarized translations or American physician approval?)
2. Write to CSC for a similar emergency request;
3. Wait for CSC’s approval on my AP (should be within 30 days according to www.immigration.com);
4. My employer has my labor certificate approved and is ready to file premium HI application if the other ways failed, so that I will have a H1 visa when I travel back.
I really appreciate you suggestion if you or know somebody had the same situation before, or if you have the information on current processing information.
Thanks a lot!
