folks,
I don't know about you. I am just getting depressed day by day bcos of this stupid GC. My priority date is oct 2001 . I have waited so patiently. Now I am breaking down. I can't do anything. GC is playing major for every decision I need make. Tired of living in a freaky paranoid world. I wonder is this only me or are there folks feeling this way.

you have a teammate

You are not alone in this world. You can consider me as your teammate.
I am so desperate now that I even called CIS to update my address even though I changed it almost 19 months ago. I thought that will trigger a 2nd FP. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Friend wake up. Don't worry too much.
I too check the different site quite often as I have to virtually kill 3 hours of my office time on an average. But job is priority in my world.
See my case. My RD is well before you but still going. Not only that there are so many people like me hanging there. There are some 2001 RD cases. I think we are better off.

Again Ensoy.

Guys,

I am really sorry to hear from you all. I was also suffering from mild form of OSC, now I am recovering from it.

If you check my PD and RD-ND, you will realize that I spent 3 years waiting for my labor process and 28 months for I-485 process.

And I have seen few more people who had PD earlier than mine. I used to feel low, but then I used to feel better when I used to think about them.

May be you will feel better after seeing my data.

I learned one thing from this immigration process. There are few things in your hand. So, try your best for achieving them.....few are not....so, just don't worry about them....you can still think about it...but it is not going to help much........

Best Luck for your journey.

Mugdha.

Don't Know what to Say

Please count me also. I was thinking that am the only one with 485 pending for more than 27 months. Recently I ran scanner/Greenland script for couple of days in Aug 2002 for a sample of 150 to 200 cases for a day. I found that only 30 to 35 % of 485 cases were approved. I dont know what is going on.
I dont know what to do except praying for the approval.

Last Sunday One of my friend spoke to me after a long time and told that his 485 is pending at NSC since Jan 18,2002 (RD) and he is forgetting about his case and packing up to go his home country.(he completed 7 yrs).

Is there a way of knowing if the pending cases are employment based on family based? I suspect that the pending ones may be family based cases.

If your friend's I-495 is pending, then why does he need to pack up to leave? He can live here as long as his 485 is pending. Am I not right in saying that?

Yes that is correct. Once you file I-485 you are in adjustment of status and can continue to stay and work (on EAD) here till your case is approved. Looks like the friend is leaving because his 7th year on H1 is ending. He does not have to leave, he can legally stay here and keep working using the EAD.

kashish,

I am of the opinion that family based 485 is takes much shorter than employment based. The Assylee' and Refuges take much more time but I doubt how many of 485 could be that kind.

we assume that the people registered in rupnet are employment based.
If look at the rupnet data http://www.rupnet.net/immigration/summary.asp?place=101 until May 02 (that is INS Processing time) the totals of Approvals and RFE (some RFE people after approval dont update) is exceeding the Filers by about 20%.This is happening becuase the rupnet has a bug (when a person is updating his case from RFE to RFE approval It is incrementing the Approvals also some times. I have no clue why this is happening)

Since Jun 02 to Dec 02 the total of approvals and RFEs is less than Filers by about 30% or more. Based on the above observations I concluded that at least 40% or more cases are not approved from Jun 02 to Dec 02.

muntasir-

My friend said that he is frustated with 485 and got good offer in his home country. I dont know whether he made that determination or saying out of frustation. I will talk to him once again and will post the update.

guys, i just want to share few words
i applied labor from NY city in sept 2001 and still its in state DOL only, after that it has to go to regional and to approve it may take 6 more months

i applied from another state now

but just i am telling you guys that your are lucky people compare to NY folks who even didnt get their labors yet those who filed in 2001..

but anyway all the best for you all guys
i just want to share that your not alone in this fight ,there are some guys in NY still waiting for their labor to clear

guys, we are in NSC that's why,

otherwise all centers are doing good.

they don't even know about delays,

unfortunately we filed GC in NSC.

It's not that we are better than some body, It's not that some body has earlier Recieved Date than me and not approved. I am just going through these emotions and rough road, I thought sharing that with you guys would easy my stress little bit. Good luck everybody

My PD is Dec 2000, and my case has been transfered to the local office, where you can't even get the processing date for employment based cases! My case is in a black hole.

still waiting

talking of depression how about frustration. i believe a lot of us are frustrated with this process too.
i have been a silent observer till now and i am still waiting
my PD is 06/1998. yes i started this process in 1998, it took four years for the Labor process and my ND for 485 is 1/15/03. i filed concurrent for me and my husband, our 1140 was approved in two months. we gave fingerprints once and since then it is like a dead connection on my phone waiting for that ring so i can communicate. we have two EAD and two AP as of yet.
hopefully they will work on all our cases and we will see a light somewhere.
