I am confused by two different responses of TSC representatives for my Name Check

I have been visiting this forum for quite some time now. In past two weeks, I called 1-800 phone two times to ask if my Name Check is clear, however, I got two completely different responses. One lady told me that my name check was clear and my I485 waiting for approval, but another lady told me that my name check was still pending.

Which one I believe? I am really confused, and do I need to contact FBI for verification?

Thanks,

Suresh

suresh_Seek_GC,

A few months ago my wife and I called the TSC 6 or 7 times within the span of 10 days and each time we were given totally different answers. ONly one of those answers turned out to be true. Basically you can never know if the information being given to you is true or not. I have stopped calling the TSC now because they tend to confuse me a lot. I will try in October again if my case does not get approved soon after the retro is lifted.

1-800 # is totally useles because you are asking contract employees who know less than most of us and give wrong and often contradictory advice .

If you get through to TSC then you have a better chance of getting some real info , although even then you have to be careful and use your own judgement and common sence .

I have also found out that if TSC rep put you on hold and spend some time looking then you have a better chance of getting accurate info but if the answer is very quick then most often it is to get rid of you in a hurry .

The only sure way of knowing would be a response from FBI to email request (may take 4 months or longer) or do a formal inquiry with TSC about you 485 status (possible if you your RD is >30 days overdue). I just did that and got a reply saying that Security Clearance was pending.

Knowing what to do after you get that information is a different story and difficult problem.

Well , the last answer I got was:
"We received your response on 6/2/05. Once your case is reviewed, you will be notified by mail. The supervisor of that unit will be notified of your case being past the processing time"

Does that mean that the name check is NOT pending ?
What are they waiting (I filed under EB1) ?
