I apologise if this has been answered elsewhere. The situation is as follows:
was on H1 B, renewed in july 2006. Got my green card after that. Do I surrender my old I 94 and the replacement I 94 I got at the time of renewal or do I have to tell someone at the airport INS while departing that I now have a PR

I am leaving today and forgot to check this before

Keep the I-94 and separate it from your passport. No need to surrender it at the airport or tell the airline anything about it when you leave the US.
