In 2004 while studying in Toronto, i went to NYC by bus and spent only 1 day there. When i got back to toronto, the canadian immigration officer told me to surrender the I-94 to an employee of Air Canada, because 5 days later i was going back to Brazil (from toronto). That´s what i did: the air canada employee took my i-94.

In january 2011 i would like to spend my honeymoon in USA, but now i´m not sure if i did the right procedure. Would they think i overstayed? What should i do?

Also, if someone do overstay, for how long are they prohibited to go back to the states?

(sorry about my english)

Thank you very much

In all likelihood your I-94 return (departure from US) was properly recorded. Do you still have all of your travel documents or the passport with any entry/exit stamps to show that you left canada after your NYC visit?

i have some documents such as my law diploma that i got a few months after i left canada, a receipt of a purchase made in canada after i left america and other stuff.
