Hello all,

My wife, H-4 visa holder went to India last week. Before leaving USA, she did not return her I-94 card (both the expired one and the one with the approval notice for extension of her H-4). I understand this causes delay when she returns back to USA. Please explain me the procedure to return these cards before she returns to US.

FYI, in India, she was able to successfully get a stamping in US consulate though. Is this good or bad?

I thank and appreciate your responses.
Thanks,
Nataraja Krishnan.

---- She should have given the all I-94 before departure with airlines

------ She can go to US consulate in India and can return the I-94 with US consulate, write in the cover letter that it is an innocent mistake and should be forgiven for that. She should keep the I-94 copy (front and backof all I0-94 and copy of letter with her or she can get it written by US consulate on copy of letter that I-94 #XXXXXXXXX received. If she has copy or air ticket or boarding pass when she departed US better keep it with her that is the evidence that she left US before expiry of her I-94.
If date on her I-94 is valid when she returns to US then I don’t see any problem, she can give that I-94 at POE and inform the officer that she forget to give it when she departed US on XYZ date and will get new I-94 till Visa validity

----- Good
