I-94 Issue

I have been laid off on June 2002 and my h1 got revocked by Aug 2002. I found a new job by aug 2002 and my new employer filed my new H1B on Sept 2002.

My new H1B got approved in Oct 2002 with new I-94 ,but the same number of I-94 as of the Old one( The one which I had was a validity till june 2004) with the new validity period.

I was kind of out of status from June 2002 to Sept 2002.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to go out of country in order to get my new I-94?
2.Do I need to revalidate my visa?(My current visa on my passport expires on June 2004.)
