I have a question. Which I-94 number do I put on the I-485? The white card or the one on my I-797A (I have an H1B visa).
The reason why I am asking is because I am about to send off my application, but I will leave the U.S. in mid-May for vacation in my home country (I was told that my H1B visa allows me to do that). I will have to give my white card up at the airport and will get a new one (and a new number) once I reenter the country. Using the I-94# on my I-797A form would allow me to use the same number for the whole process. Does anyone know if it is ok to use the I-94 # on the I-797A form?
