I-94 for 3 months and a note "no AOS, EOS, COS"

HI,

My mother-in-law came to US last month on B2 visa. At the port of entry the officer asked her for the documents, including the invitation letter but some how the documents were missing and only she had is the return flight ticket(6months) and the passport with her. So, the immigration officer gave her only 3 months of stay in her I-94 and wrote a note "no EOS, AOS, COS". I believe that means no Extension of stay, Adjustment.. etc.

My question is can I apply for Extension of stay for 3 more months with all the proper documents showing support and insurance information?? will they even consider it if I file for extension?

Please let me know if any one knows anything about this.. as we are in a desperate situation.

By the way she came to US 3 times before, in 2000(6 months), 2002 (6 months + 3 extension), 2005 (6 months).

Thanks

They will not grant an extension. She has a restricted I-94 and they will comply by the officer at the POE and what he denoted as NO EOS. Particularly they will not even grant an extension for just "tourism".

The admitting officer had doubts about your mother-in-law and thus issued a restricted I-94. By applying for an extension, you will only solidy those doubts. Don't do it. It will not be worth the risk.
