I 94 extension beyond B1/B2 visa expiry date

I need some advice on my mother-in-law's extension of stay application.
She is an Indian citizen and traveled to the US and landed in the US on 4/4/2024. She has been admitted upto 10/3/2024.
We are thinking of extending her stay by another 6 months (upto 4/3/2025) in the US but her visa expires on 1/11/2025. My question is, given she is currently inside the US, can we apply for extension beyond the expiry date of the visa?

A US visa is solely for entry, and is irrelevant to one's stay inside the US (including any changes of status or extensions of stay). A visa's expiration date just means the last date you can enter the US with it.
