I-94 expiring, Pls help Friends

My wife\'s H1b is expiring on 14 Feb 2001, meanwhile we have applied for
renewal of H1b. Now a days it is taking 2-3 months for approval of H1b.
We also have a Work Authorisation, which we never used. After 14 Feb, if
we dont get our H1B approval, Also our I-94 will expire on 14 Feb 2001.
What are the options do we have??
1. If we use EAD, what will happen to our H1B status
2. What about I-94?

Please help me with a suitable solutions.

Bal, Once she applied for H1 renewal before expiry and she got a receipt, they are going to renew it from the expiry date of the 1st H1. So she don\'t have to worry about anything and just wait for H1B approval. She can continue on your H1B status. Don\'t use her EAD. The only issue is you cann\'t go out of the country until her new H1 is approved.
