i-94 expired

Hello,
Iam on H1B and my wife on h4. My 6yrs expired so did my I-94 2 days back. Also my wife's H4 and I-94. I have applied for extension of h1 based on my vacations out of US for both me and my wife. i have my ead and AP approved just now. but my wife's ead and AP are yet to be approved and also extension of visa is not yet processed. Is she legal to stay and what abt my stay?please let me know, thx in advance
 
you both are in status as long as your respective i485 is pending. as you have also applied h1&h4 extension you are still in h1 status and can work based on that. you dont even have to use ead for work. if you wish to join another employer then you may join using h1 transfer based on h1 receipt notice or 7th year extension if applicable or by using ead.
