i-864a with in-laws sponsoring me

Hello,

I did a search for this here on forums and could not find anything relevant to my situation, maybe mine is somewhat unique.
My wife petitioned for me but she does not meet minimum income requirement so my in laws (her parents) are sponsoring me. Now, because they all currently live in the same household the embassy here in Costa Rica told me that 2(two) i-864A forms have to be filled out, one with each one of my in laws and my wife. My question is a simple one.
My wife needs to fill out the Household member portion on both forms right? My inlaws just need to sign that they are sponsors (Part 2, Sponsors Promise) and provide each their 1040 forms as well as W2's. Am I correct on this? Or is it the other way around?
I know the i-864a needs to be originals, but can the 1040 and w2 be copies?

I appreciate any help you can provide. This is the last thing I need to submit to embassy here. Once submitted I get my passport stamped within a week. =)
 
"Sponsor" is the immigration sponsor, not the financial provider. Your wife is the sponsor, her parents are the household members.

Your wife fills in only the "Part 2 sponsor's promise", and her parents would fill in the entire rest of the form.

The 1040's can be copies. Instead of 1040 forms they could send IRS tax transcripts (which may be preferable, because it comes from the IRS so it's more official).

Awesome! thanks! as soon as i get these forms here in Costa Rica and submit them, I wait two weeks and I'm home free. Can be with my wife and daughter now. Thanks!
 
I interviewed Sept 26 of last year. They have been giving me the run around since then, continually asking for documents, telling me that they needed to validate those documents with immigration in Honduras and stuff like that. Consulate this week told me that I have to resubmit those i-864a along with medical and police records again. Once I do that they give me a date to interview again with consulate, which I know wont be a problem, and once consul sees my marriage is legit, i get my passport back one week later, ready for travel.
 
Ok, I have one last question. Forms are filled out (in-laws as Household Members and wife as Sponsor). My final question is in regards to Section 12. My assests (complete if necessary). Is this absolutely necessary to fill out? they have bank accounts but they dont own properties or stocks, bonds or certificates. Will there be an issue if they leave the balance of bank accounts blank?
