I-864A self sponsor exp

I read a post where the interview officer rejected the I-864A self sponsor by the alien, I was wondering if anyone has faced a similar situation ?. If anyone has experence with self supporting their app . please publish your experences.

or is this a new USCIS guideline ?

OK, what i failed to mention (actually i did, but did not emphasize) is that i overstayed my B1/B2 visa and i was working and paying taxes with the SSN given to me for "education" purposes in the early 1900 (yes, they used to do that and write "NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT" on it).

I know its wrong and I did pay the $1,000 penalty for overstaying and working but maybe that was the reason why he "recommended" that I should not use my self supporting affidavit.

My lawyer even suggested me (after telling me to fill out out the self support) to have another sponsor in case the officer doesn't like.

Thanks for the clarification JD... I have never heard about them refusing the I-864A but maybe your circumstances were different...
