I-864 simple question

Hello.
I am preparing I-864 to submit it with my wife's I-485.
I am the US citizen and my wife is a alien staying in US legally.
So, I am sponsoring her green card.

In i-864, Part 1,

I ______ am the sponsor submitting this affidavit of support because (Check only one box):

a. I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative.
b. I filed an alien worker petition on behalf of the intending immigrant, who is related to me as my_______ .
----------------------------------

Do I select a ?
or do I select b with "who is related to me as my spouse" because she is also filing an I-765?

It's (a). The (b) is for employers that sponsor their workers.

Hey you had to provide recent income tax return right? I have not filed income tax since 1970 and i am trying to sponsor my wife so she can get her greencard and stay here with me. She is 4 months pregnant and I am afraid they will deny our 485 packet application and they will deport her. In the form 864 it says i need to provide income tax return and i dont have any although I own a house and can obviously support her. What other options do I have? Thanks guys.
