Hi,
I am currently on H1-b status and work within the US. I am basically "supporting" myself. However, when i file i-130, we still have to file 864 from my sponsor (wife)?

Thanks for the advice

Not sure wat the Question is...but...if u r using ur own income....ur wife will have to fill I864(even if she has zero income) and u can fill I 864A to show combined household income.

864a

Thanks tapskap. Sounds like we then need to submit two forms 864 for her and 864a for both of us. Her income might not meet the requirement. At any rate, i have been here for a while now on H1-B and I basically am the "sponsor" so to speak.
Ok, we will file both forms. If there is anything I am missing, let me know

I am sponsoring my spouse's GC and I am working as well. I know I need to file 864 but does my spouse also need to submit 864A? My spouse is working on H1B visa.

If the sponsor is using just her/his income to qualify for the 125% income requirement, she/he doesn't need to submit 864A, however, if sponsor's income alone doesn't qualify for 125%, one may use your spouse's income. In that case he should file an I-864A.

so, for the clarification, your wife is a sponsor to file the I-130 behalf of you. (I do not think you can file I-130 for yourself. You can't sponsor yourself on an immigrant visa thou).

However, your wife does not have enought income to meet the requirement. Is it true?

If so, I would think your wife and you need to fill out I-864 (2 I-864), and 1 I-864 (basically, you sign the contract saying you would support the sponsored immigrant (you).. blah blah blah).

I am in the opposite position.
I am a USC to sponsor my wife coming to US. My income meets / exceeds the 125 percent guideline. Do I still need to file the I-864A since my wife's income is very low because she works in a church.

No. I-864 is enuf.

self-employment verfication

What kind of documents do I need to supply to verify I am self-employed when filing I-864 ? Do I write an employment verification letter signed by myself :-) since I am self-employed ? or is there some other documentation I need to provide ?

Thanks.

In your cover letter you mention that you are self-employed and are submitting copies of 1099 and your 1040 from last year. Even better is to submit tax transcript from IRS. USCIS does not care if you are self employed or an employee, as long as you can prove that you meet/exceed the minimum income requirement, you are good to go.
