Hello to all on this forum,

I'm filling out my paper work to adjust status and I'm stuck with I-864.
I'm 31 my wife is 20 and has only ever filed 2 tax returns, while the form requires 3.
I have another sponsor who makes more than enough to sponsor me.
Should I do a joint sponsor or just have the other sponsor cover me seeing that he make enough to cover me for the adjustment? I have most of the paper work filled out, I just need to be clear on what to do on this form.
Thanks!

Your US citizen wife must fill out an I-864, whether her income is enough or not.

Other sponsors joining would file a separate I-864 or I-864A, in addition to the I-864 filled out by your wife.

To combine income with your wife and file I-864A, they must meet the definition of "household member" as described in the I-864A instructions. Otherwise, they would file I-864 and they must make enough money to meet the requirement without joining funds with you or your wife.
