I-824 requested after I-130 Approval!

Hi,

my wife lives overseas. After a 1.5 year's wait for the I-130 (in which my idiotic lawyer also applied for I-485, which was denied), the USCIS sent their approval. However, they said they were going to sleep on the approved application because they're not sure where my wife lives (apparently they decided that since I applied to 485 that my wife is either in the US or overseas, even though they denied the 485!) and won't send it to the NVC unless I file form 824.

Either way, I sent the 824 form immediately. I see that the wait time for this form is 6 months, which is very disappointing. Is there any way to speed up this very simple transfer process? does it make more sense to file I-129 now? is there an alternative to just waiting???

Thanks,

Max
