Hi, this is my first time on this forum and hoping to get some help/advise here. I have my green card via marriage for 5 years, I applied for citizenship and got the I797c for biometrics in September 2013, however, I was out of town so I missed the appointment. I sent in my request to reschedule per the instructions, however, still haven't heard anything for a reschedule appointment. I called the USCIS office and they just told me to wait...I'm worried that they have lost my reschedule request and I don't know what to do...Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Really, any thoughts would be helpful! Thanks!

You may be able to just go and do a walk-in for the biometrics rather than wait for a rescheduled appointment. Depending on the location, they may just take you in. In some locations, it only works on certain days of the week and at certain times of the day.

What natur08 said. In most cases, it appears that the officer/manager will allow you to simply walk-in and to have your biometrics taken. Back in school, I'd made a 'mistake' of requesting a reschedule for my biometrics for work authorization and I ended up missing one of my finals (that cost me good grades) due to rescheduling.

If you go for a walk-in with the old biometrics notice, just hand them the paper and act as if nothing is wrong. Don't say anything about the date difference unless they notice it. And if they notice it, you can say you requested a reschedule.
