Hi, I need help with filing my application for GC. I have posted the context of my applicatiion and my questions below. If you can answer any/all of these questions, it will be a great help!

Thanks a lot!

Context: Applying for Family based Green card; concurrently filing I-765/I-130/I-485; I (beneficiary) am in the US on L1visa; my husband (petitioner) is a US citizen; we live in Florida

Questions
1. All the forms (I-765/I-130/I-485) need to be sent in one package. Should the individual forms be in envelopes with the form and all the supporting documents and the form name marked on the envelope? (So three sealed and marked envelopes in a big package?)
2. I will have a change of address in 1-2 months time. Does change in address (and sending the form to notify change) delay the process? Is it better to wait for a couple of months and apply from the new address?

Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative
3. [Question 15, “Date this employment began?”]
I am in the US on an L1 visa (inter-company transfer). I started work with my present employer in my home country. Should I write the start date for work with my employer in my home country, or start date of my work in the US branch (of the same company)?

4. [Q 22, To which USCIS office will you apply for Adjustment of Status?]
I live in Florida, but I have to send all the forms concurrently to Chicago. What should be the answer to this question for me?

Form I -864, Affidavit of Support
5. [Question 21, “Your Household Size”? For line “c”, “if you are currently married, enter’1’ for your spouse”]
Should my husband enter ‘1’ or ‘0’? If he enters ‘1’, he’ll be double counting me, as I am the one he is sponsoring in this application. If he enters ‘0’, will that be considered ‘wrong’ information?

6. [Question 24, “My current annual household income”]
We do not want to use my (wife’s) income for the sponsorship (because the source of my income can change after I get permanent residence). Can we omit my present income from the calculation of ‘Total household income’ for this question? Will this be considered ‘wrong’ information?

Form 1-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status
7. What is “Current USCIS Status”? Is it “Temporary worker on L1 Visa” or ‘Status’ is defined in some other way?

8. [Part 2. Application Type. I will check ‘a’ (an immigration petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has been approved)]I am filing the petition with this form, so it is not approved yet. Should I attach a copy of the petition (i-130) with this form?

Form I-765, Application for employment Authorization
9. [ “Manner of Last entry?”] Writing “Temporary worker” is correct or do I need to write “Temporary Worker on L1B Visa status”

Thanks again!

I'd wait until your change of address is complete, unless you already know the new address. There have been many reports of people missing their notices of receipt/interview because they moved and reported their change of address to USCIS, but somehow the information is lost/misfiled/missing. Do not forget to put your name inside the new mail box, and make sure your new post office knows your names and that you live at the new address.

P.S. Unless you absolutely need to file sooner rather than later.

Thanks LucyMo.

For 'I-130,Q 22, To which USCIS office will you apply for Adjustment of Status?' you replied "District office in FL that has jurisdiction over your residence".
How do I find this? Is this supposed to be on of the 'Application Service Centers' listed on the USCIS site? If yes, within FL/Miami, there are multiple Service Centers. Should I pick the one which is closest to my house?
Is this used for fingerprinting only or something else too?

Thanks.

Hi:

No, application support centers are for FP/biometrics. You have to list the DISTRICT OFFICE. If it is Miami, then list "Miami, FL".

However, note that you will not be sending your applications to the district office, but rather to the Chicago Lockbox. Your eventual interview will likely take place at the DISTRICT OFFICE.
