I-765 Employment with H1B1 Visa?

Hello all,

I submitted my I-140 & I-485 back in February, 2007 to the Texas Service Center. I'm still waiting for approval on both forms. I have a H1B1 Visa that expires October 30, 2007. Do I need to get a work permit for myself (I-765) as my visa is soon to expire and haven't received an answer from USCIS? Or Can I continue working covered under my I-485?

Absolutely. You *must* either have your employer extend the H-1 or get an EAD. The odds of your EAD being approved in if you file now are extremely low, so get that H-1 extension started.
 
Thank you...but, I'm still covered under I-485 to reside in the US?
Also, would my wife and daughter need to extend their H4's?
