I-765 Approved, I-485 Pending...Now What?

Hello All,

These threads are great, but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for so I'm hoping that someone out there may be able to give me a little bit of advice. I am a Canadian Citizen on a TN Visa who recently married a USC. All our forms (for the I-485) are processed and my EAD (I-765) has been recently approved. So my questions are:
1) Should I file my EAD with my employer?
2) Should I return my TN (I-94) to the border?
3) Is it risky to travel internationally with my I-765 while my I-485 case is still pending?
4) If the I-485 gets approved, is the EAD (I-765) essentially useless?

------> If you have EAD, then you can work anyone. There is no sponsoring needed for your EAD.

2) Should I return my TN (I-94) to the border?

------> Not sure. Check with your attorney. Wait for other members to reply.

3) Is it risky to travel internationally with my I-765 while my I-485 case is still pending?

-------> EAD is like the work permit and you can not use EAD for travelling.

4) If the I-485 gets approved, is the EAD (I-765) essentially useless?

------> Obviously, you will get GC then. No use of EAD.
