I will be applying for removal of condition(I-751) in September 2006 at Vermont. Does anybody know how long it takes to get the condition removed? I"m married to a local citizen and that is how I got my GC in the first place. Do they give you anything like a card or a receipt while you wait for your actual card? My first expires but not before I apply for removal of condition. I am supposed to apply for the removal 90 days prior to the 2nd anniversary of the card.

Can anybody tell me if Vermont is efficient? How long it takes to get a GC and the conditions removed?Do they ask for drivers license etc or what documents do they need?

Ok. this is how it works. First you apply for I-751 for removal of conditions from your conditional green card 90 days before your GC expires. Your application is received at USCIS and you will get a NOA. There is no hard and fast rule that your application would be approved in 90 days. In such cases where the application is taking 90 days or more to process and the date on your GC has expired/going to expire, you can walk in to your DO, show them your NOA and get an extension on your GC for one more year. This would be good enough till your I-751 is processed.

Hope this helps...
