I-751 Worries

Scared Husband

New Member
Hello all,

I'm writing here today because, frankly, I'm very scared. I married my wife 4 years ago, by which she was able to get her green card. Soon after we wed my wife became pregnant and had a beautiful son who is now almost 3. Unfortunately my marriage has been on the rocks for a while; you name the issue; we were to young; to incompatible, too immature. We are currently separated but still working on the marriage. We are not living together. Long story short my wife filled an I-751 couple months back and now we have a interview.

Is honesty the best policy? What should i do? I am so fearful of her getting deported and worse even that i would also lose my son!!!! Am I overacting? I tell myself real marriages have issues all the time and these things are common they would understand, but i just don't know.

I love my wife and son dearly. Please any and all advise would be greatly welcomed.

Honesty is always the best policy. You guys have a kid together. No fraud here, PLUS you are STILL married and still working on the marriage though not living together.

You are fine. Work on that marriage.

Even if she gets deported, she can't legally take your (presumably) US citizen son out of the country without your permission. But she won't get deported. You're still married and have a son together.

Make sure to bring documentation of your son's existence to the interview -- birth certificate, medical records, US passport (if he has one).
