I-751 - When? And what about work?

Hi there!

First off, you guys have been amazing in the past and I've recommended this forum to anyone looking for information. So here are the questions:

When should we file for the removal of conditional residency? The I-751 instructions say within 90 days of the 2-year GC anniversary. We know it takes a month for them to even receive the files, so we were thinking of physically mailing it before the 90 days. Is there a penalty or concern for mailing it a month early?

Can the conditional GC holder work while waiting for the GC? If so, how long does it take to get the extension document? Again, being familiar with how long it can take to approve these things, we want to be sure we won't be out of a job for 2 months like last time. I've read here that USCIS sends a 1-year extension letter while you wait for your status to be adjusted. How long does it take to get this letter? If it is less than 90 days, great! If it's more, is there anything we can do in the meantime to not lose a job?

Thanks for all of the support and help! :)

1.- It does not take a month for them to receive it. If USCIS receives it before 90 days, they will send it back to you. Waste of time.

2.- Yes, he can continue working. Usually you will get the extension letter in 30-60 days.
