Hello everyone,

I just submitted my I-751 on Nov15th, 2007. My husband and I wanted to go travel during January in China. I was wondering what is the normal time period before I get a notice from the immigration? When will I receive a letter for Notice of Action, or appointment for finger print, or another appointment for interview? And is it ok if I go travel during January till beginning of February?
My two year green card expires in February 15th, 2008.

Thank you for any kind of information.

Also, this time when I apply for it, it would be a 10 year green card, not one year. I got my green card through my husband...

From what I heard it looks like you should get your first NOA in about 4-6 weeks or so. A good sign seems to be when the check you submitted with your docs is cashed. Then you can expect the NOA to arrive soon after.

As long as USCIS got your I-751 before your card expires, you are fine. If youe cheque was cashed, you are fine. Loss of the NOA in the mail will not make you out of status.

It can't be 2-4 months...I would be out of status because my green card is expriing on Feb15th, 2007...
